Donating To A Worthy Cause (Tue, August 12, 2008, By Raj)

Prominent Diabetic blogger Allison Blass of Lemonade Life is celebrating her 23rd birthday this year by fund raising $2300 in 23 days towards Diabetic research.

From Allison:
"Why should you donate to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation? The reasons are fairly simple: diabetes is the 5th leading cause of death, complications include kidney failure and heart disease, and we have dozens of bright, hard-working researchers all over the world who need more funding.

Many of you have personal connections to diabetes. I have had Type 1 diabetes for more than 14 years, I have been a volunteer with JDRF for over seven years and I believe that the money JDRF raises will fund the researcher(s) that will find the cure for diabetes."

Diabetic Days is proud to support Allison in her worthy cause and honored to have donated to any drive towards finding a cure. We would like to encourage everyone out there to please help as best they can.

Diabetic Days Joins Forces With Twitter (Sat, March 29, 2008, By Raj)

In a continuing effort to make your Diabetic life easier Diabetic Days is proud to announce that it has now added Twitter to its already extensive submission mediums such as email, text message (SMS) and the web.

Twitter is a well established communication tool used by hundreds of thousands of people across the world to send short messages to a group of friends or individuals. Twitter is accessible via mobile phone, SMS, Instant Messaging (IM), the web and a variety of 3rd party applications giving you even more ways of communicating with Diabetic Days wherever you may be.

Diabetic Days can now receive data submitted via Twitter from a registered user and submit that information into our database in the same way we do for email and text messages currently.

The format for sending messages is exactly the same as that of an SMS submission with the text "@DiabeticDays" preceding your data to let Twitter know the message is for us.

We hope that this further enhances the Diabetic Days service enabling easier management of Diabetes to all Diabetics across the globe.
