About Diabetic Days

Hi there, my name's Raj and I'm the guy behind Diabetic Days.

The idea for Diabetic Days came about through my own experiences of being an insulin dependent diabetic. I was diagnosed with juvenille diabetes one week before starting high school and have now lived with four daily injections for over thirteen years.

Keeping control of my blood glucose levels has always been a trial especially throughout my teens and although I was always doing my best to keep things normal they had a way of getting away from me. At that time I was recording my readings & insulin dosages in a small diary that was provided by my specialist. I never kept the book with me and would often find myself forgetting my readings and getting in a bit of trouble on my trips to the doctor because of it. It wasn't that I didn't want to track what was happening more so it was the hassel of carrying so many things with me all the time adding a diary/book to that was just more than I could handle.

Skip about ten years and things are pretty normal, that is until one of my insulin brands goes out of production and I find myself re-writing history going through the same dramas of keeping things in balance with a new type of insulin. Again I was given a diary and again I began to waver from its entries. That is why Diabetic Days was born.

Originally I created a website to use for my own personal tracking of glucose levels and insulin dosages, one that I could have access to at any moment from anywhere in the world. Add on top of that the fact I built in the ability to email my readings through as well as use my mobile and I didn't even need a computer. Within a month I had things back to normal and I want to give all diabetics, new and veterans the opportunity to do the same.

So now I've launched Diabetic Days, a website where anyone can sign up for free and keep a track of their diabetic lives from anywhere in the world, with or without a computer handy. I've also added in a few extra bits and pieces like graphs, averages and exports for you & your doctor that were functions I found useful.

Please enjoy Diabetic Days and make sure you let me know if there's something you'd like added or changed because it will most likely turn out beneficial to everyone!

Lastly, although Diabetic Days is free for anyone to use it does cost money to run. Money that at this stage is coming from my own pocket. Please support me in offering this to the world and donate to the continuing effort to keep Diabetic Days running.

Take care,
Raj.
